Rules of the GVP for the Czech Republic

During the Sunrise Period shall have the prior right to the registration of the domain names of the public institutions, together with the holders of trade marks. Rules for the holder of trademarks are intended by PriceWaterhouseCoopers and more information can be obtained on the website www.eurid.org.
As regards public institution, it is a legal person established by law and other legal persons engaged in particular activities in the public interest. These institutions have the right to register their name (e.g. magistrathlavnihomestaprahy, magistrat_hlavniho_mesta _prahy. eu), abbreviated the name under which they are commonly known (such as the city of the eu), and the territories under their administration (e.g. Prague. eu). Combining diacritical marks in domain names can not be used.
From the right to priority registration does not imply a guarantee of its success. As in other stages of the registration of domain names under the domain of the eu rule "first come, first obtained." Given the option to register and abbreviated names and administered the territory throughout the European Union, you can expect more applicants for the same domain name.
Public institutions for this purpose means:
- ministries and other central bodies of State administration
- the authorities of the State administration and local administration
- authorities of the territorial self-government (municipalities and autonomous regions)
- legal persons established by performing activities in the public interest
- elementary school, middle school and high school
- the Foundation, a non-profit organization, neinvestiční funds
- Agency, Association, associations and companies performing activities in the public interest
- Library
- other legal persons performing activities in the public interest
To confirm the identification of the public institutions and the assessment of the validity of a request shall be submitted to this request on the headed paper of the institution and signed by a person authorised to act on behalf of the requesting public institutions, including the official stamp of the public institutions.
The institutions listed under numbers 6 through 9 shall submit the following documents:
- a certified copy of the instrument of incorporation or formation
- excerpt from the registry, no older than 3 months
- further evidence that the institution operates in the public interest, provided that this does not result from the previous listed documents.
